About Me

About Me

I'm D. Jone Daniel Derickson, a 20 year old senior majoring in industrial design.

I'm deeply drawn to the artistic and sculptural aspects of design, particularly in the world of industrial and transportation design. Outside of sketching and project work, I love following motorsports and curling up with a good book from pretty much any genre.

What I Do

What I Do

Designing the future of mobility and everyday objects. My practice is driven by the conviction that great design transcends mere function; it must possess both a compelling sculptural value and genuine human resonance. I work to ensure every line, curve, and material choice contributes to a seamless, emotionally engaging experience that is built to endure.

How I Do

The core of my approach is distillation. I start with a burst of rough, often chaotic sketches to capture the initial spirit of the idea. The subsequent process focuses entirely on refining that raw energy, translating the messy initial vision into a clean, compelling sculptural form that maximizes its inherent human resonance and readiness for production.
